Irish NAERSA Auto-Enrolment

Irish NAERSA auto-enrolment is expected in 2024–2025. This tool identifies which of your employer clients may have AE obligations under the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA) / MyFutureFund scheme.

AE Eligibility Criteria

Employees meeting all four criteria will be automatically enrolled unless already in a qualifying scheme.

Employees aged 16–66 years old

Earnings Threshold

Earning €20,000 or more per year (or equivalent)

Not Already Enrolled

Currently not enrolled in a qualifying pension scheme

Employment in Ireland

Working in Ireland (PRSI contributor)

Employers AE Exposure

Employers without an active occupational DC scheme may have NAERSA obligations for eligible employees.

Phase 3: Full AE Member-Level Eligibility Scoring

The full AE checker is coming in Phase 3. It will include member-level eligibility scoring — checking each employee's age, earnings, current enrolment status, and PRSI class to produce a per-employee AE risk score and recommended action. Integration with MyFutureFund enrollment APIs is also planned.
